All thumbprint cookies recipes are kid friendly. Including this. And mine love caramel too…
- 115 g (1/2 cup) butter
- 150 g (2/3 cup) sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbs milk
- 140 g (1 cup) flour
- 33g (1/3 cup) cocoa
- 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in the egg yolk, milk and rum. Sift in the flour, cocoa and a pinch of salt. Wrap the dough in plastic film and refrigerate 1h.
Shape the dough in 28 balls, roll in egg white, then walnuts.Place on cookie sheets about 5 cm apart. Ask some help for little thumbs, or big and dent each cookie (or use a wooden spoon handle)
Bake for 12 minutes at 175°C
- 100 g chocolate
- 2 Tbs caramel
- 28 chocolate kisses
Melt the chocolate and add the caramel.
Drizzle some white chocolate on cookies, if you prefer, then spoon or pipe the filling into each cookie, and press a chocolate kiss in center.
